SCUOLA DE SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA, INC. is a SEC-registered educational institution with
principal address at Block 5, Lot 31 7 th St., San Sebastian Village, Brgy. Poblacion 3, Tanauan City, Batangas.
Establishing a new private school in the Philippines at the height of a global pandemic
was worth a story to tell.
Since time immemorial, Mr. Alex Mercado, School President and Chairman of the
Board of Directors, knew that his desire to put up his own school was not just a dream,
but as real as his heartbeat. As an educator in the 1990s and the first decade of the
2000, he knew he had to do it he realized that he needed some help.
Having worked as a School Principal in a private school in Tanauan prior to his pursuit of an overseas job in Europe, Sir Alex, as he is fondly called by peers and students, knew exactly what he would want to see in his planned school, and so over the course of a decade working overseas, his dream slowly inched its way especially when he met several fellow Tanauenos in Europe who expressed their desire to join him in his quest more particularly Sir Jose Olaes, a former teacher himself as well in a private school in Tanauan City, Batangas.
Many elements contributed to the slow-paced progress of putting up the school which
began in late 2019. After ascertaining support from two of his siblings, a cousin and a
few friends, he organized the school board and pull in our start-up resources.
Supervising the ground works in a long-distance manner was not all easy. In fact, it
was laden with struggles.
But, his drive for success weighed more than any form of setback.
Seeking and finding the right people to help us continued with our dream school came
in the mid-2020 when we were able to contact a former colleague when I taught in a
Christian school in Tanauan. He accepted the challenge and was off on a good start
until the global pandemic unceremoniously stopped him and us from doing the
paperwork, documentary requirement and finishing touches in the school building as
movement of people was restricted at the height of the pandemic.
When the public emergency restriction was softened in 2021 and lifted up in 2022, the
board resumed and tried to catch up with precious lost time until finally we are able to
submit our application for permit to operate in October 20, 2023, which instantly took
off a heavy load of stress from our shoulders.
Finally, after a long wait, the Department of Education has granted Scuola the permit
to operate beginning August 1, 2024 for our maiden year of operation.
Thereafter, the Board of Directors have committed themselves to use all the pains for
gains. They commit to fulfill their aspirations to provide quality pre-kindergarten,
kindergarten and elementary education by getting the best teachers with the best
attitude and character as it is a key in laying down the foundation of developing an above-the-average learning environment complemented by cutting-age educational
tools. Providing a rewarding career path for our teachers and staff, we definitely look
forward to becoming a top-tier “SCHOOL OF HAPPINESS” where we can say with
pride,

Scuola de San Antonio de Padua, Inc. (SSAPI) believes that the human nature can be enhanced through proper nurture, which includes relevant learning exposure, exploration and experience. Teachers play a key role in this endeavor; hence, a deliberate faculty training and development is essential because only competent and dedicated teachers are able to touch lives and drive learners’ interest to pursue right knowledge and understanding in the light of numerous topics in various subjects. In fact, good teachers with the right attitude towards teaching and learning have better chances to produce students/graduates who enjoy learning as a lifestyle, and not just an endeavor.
The school stands on the doctrine of planting – what we sow is what we reap.
